Seattle • A plain-language care guide
Seattle peptide specialist? Start here.
Looking for care in Seattle? This plain-language guide helps you understand the options and check them before taking the next step.
Begin with the name, not the pitch.
Picture a short string of beads. A peptide is a tiny chain of parts joined together, like beads on that string. Proteins use these same parts. Peptide describes what something is made of, not one job in the body. Insulin is one example.
That word can describe very different products.
The September 26, 2026 records include FDA-approved peptide products: semaglutide is the ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy; tirzepatide is the ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound. C
The Food and Drug Administration, known as FDA, is the federal agency that reviews medicines.
When a pharmacy prepares medicine to order, the result is a compounded medicine.
As of September 26, 2026, those preparations do not have FDA approval. A

Your clinician assesses your health and decides on care as the health professional responsible for that work.
As of September 30, 2026, a clinician in another state generally needs either a Washington licence or another legal basis for treating you while you are here. B
Some narrow exceptions allow a clinician in another state to advise your Washington clinician, who stays in charge of treatment. Another allows a specialist to give an opinion without treating you. An existing patient treated in the clinician’s home state may continue some follow-up while briefly visiting Washington. These exceptions still require a licence in good standing in the other state.
Ask for the Washington licence number. If the clinician relies on an exception, ask which one applies to your visit and why.
